As a beauty enthusiast, I am always on the lookout for new and exciting makeup products. When I heard about the Deja Brew Palette by ColourPop, I knew I had to get my hands on it. This 12-pan eyeshadow palette is inspired by coffee and features a range of warm, earthy shades that are perfect for creating everyday looks with a touch of glam. In this review, I will be swatching and sharing my thoughts on each shade in the Deja Brew Palette.
Packaging
The Deja Brew Palette comes in a sleek and sturdy cardboard casing with a coffee cup and beans design on the cover, which is a cute touch. It feels durable and lightweight, which makes it easy to pack for on-the-go makeup looks. Inside, there is a mirror that spans the size of the palette, which is a great addition for those who like to do their makeup on the go.
Formula and Texture
ColourPop has always been known for their high-quality and affordable makeup products, and the Deja Brew Palette is no exception. Each shade is formulated with the brand’s signature Super Shock formula, which is a creamy, pigmented, and long-lasting formula that applies smoothly onto the lid. The textures of the eyeshadows are unique and unlike the average powder shadows. Some of the shadows have a cream-to-powder formula, while others are downright buttery or silicone-like with a bouncy, spongy texture.
Swatches
Now onto the part that everyone has been waiting for – swatches!
Skinny Latte – a matte pale cream shade. It was not pigmented enough to appear on my skin. As a pale person, I could tell the difference between it and my skin, but it would not be as visible on someone tan or dark-complexioned.
Pumpkin Spice – a coppery, glitter-infused shade with a subtle shift of pink. It applies smoothly with a single swipe, and the glitter adds a lovely sparkle to the lid which is not over the top.
Cold Brew – a gorgeous, metallic cool taupe shade that looks positively radiant on the lids. It’s incredibly pigmented, and it applies like silk without any fallout.
Turmeric – a warm burnt orange shade with a hint of gold in it. It’s quite pigmented, but it could be a little more opaque. It is perfect for adding warmth and depth to any eye look.
Hazelnut – a matte warm brown that is perfect for blending out a crease shade. It has a buttery texture and is very pigmented.
Drip – a muted brown with a cool undertone. It has a creamy texture and is perfect for blending out a natural-looking smoky eye.
Vanilla Bean – a shimmery champagne that is perfect for creating a subtle highlight on the inner corner of the eye. It is not as pigmented as I would have liked, but it builds up well.
French Roast – a matte, deep warm brown shade that is perfect for creating a smoky eye. It applies evenly and doesn’t have any fallout.
Frappe – a stunning golden bronze that is perfect for creating a glam eye look. It is one of the most pigmented shades in the palette and can be used as a lid shade or blended out into the crease.
Iced Coffee – a metallic light brown with a warm undertone. It applies evenly and doesn’t have any fallout.
Decaf– a muted pinky-brown with a warm undertone. It has a buttery texture and is perfect for creating a soft, natural eye look.
Chai Tea – a matte, cool brown with a buttery texture. It’s perfect for blending out a crease shade and creating a soft eye look.
Color Payoff and Longevity
I found the color payoff of each shade in the Deja Brew Palette to be impressive, especially considering the affordable price point of the palette. The shades are pigmented and blend easily, which makes it easy to create a range of looks without much effort.
In terms of longevity, the shadows do not crease or fade throughout the day, thanks to the Super Shock formula. It’s a great option for all-day wear or for wearing on special occasions.
Price and Value
The Deja Brew Palette is priced at under $20, which is exceptional value for a 12-pan eyeshadow palette. Considering the quality and pigmentation of the shadows, the price point is very affordable and accessible to everyone. I cannot think of any other high-quality eyeshadow palettes that can be compared favorably with this price point.
Overall, I was incredibly impressed with the Deja Brew Palette by ColourPop. The range of warm, earthy shades is perfect for everyday wear, and the Super Shock formula makes it easy to apply and blend the shadows with ease. The packaging is also attractive and functional, adding to the value of the purchase. At an affordable price point of under $20, the Deja Brew Palette is an excellent value for the money and is a must-have for anyone searching for a high-quality, affordable eyeshadow palette. I highly recommend it.
